The LiveVault 7.80 Hot Fix includes the following:

Features & Enhancements:

  • Updated signing checks to accept future upgrades to be scheduled from the LiveVault Web portal. If this release is skipped, then the subsequent release will require a server’s administrator to manually logon to each server to install the upgrade.

Fixes:

  • A network connection drop occurring in a critical phase of the backup that can cause an error in the backup.
  • A problem backup may be generated when Change Block Tracking (CBT) is enabled on a LiveVault policy and a fresh baseline backup is requested by LiveVault using the VMWARE Collector.
  • When LiveVault’s file system filter driver overflows its allocated memory storage, it clears its list of open files, which caused an error in the backup

Availability:

  • Subscription customers using LiveVault’s cloud: LiveVault 7.80 agent hot fix releases, builds 12843, 12844, and 12845, will be Generally Available in December 7, 2105.
  • Hosting Partners & Customers who manage their own vaults: The latest 7.80 hot fix release will not be made available to hosting partners and customer whose vaults are not yet running release 7.80.

Note: To gain access to the fixes and new features associated with this release, it is recommended, that you upgrade all servers to LiveVault release 7.80.

 

What do I need to do?

Once the agent is available, you will need to schedule the upgrade of your servers.

Note: If you choose not to upgrade to this release, then the next subsequent release will require the administrator to manually logon to each server to install the upgrade.

CloudRecover are pleased to announce the release of Connected 8.8.5, current customers will be automatically upgraded to this release during early December 2015

New in this Release

This release officially includes the following enhancements to HPE Connected Backup version 8.8.5:

  • Support for Connected Backup application in Portrait Orientation Mode
  • Outlook 2016 support for PC and Mac Agents
  • Support for PC Agent installation on Windows 10 operating system
  • Support for Mac Agent installation on Mac OS X10.11 (El Capitan) operating system

Resolved Issues

This section lists the resolved issues in HPE Connected Backup version 8.8.5:

  • CB-38849. Updated the default rule set that is associated with the PC Agent configuration to exclude the $(ProgramW6432) folder.
  • CB-38923. Resolved an issue where the Mac Agent was unable to backup the large file extended attributes (XATTR) and marked the entire archive as corrupt.
  • CB-38870 - Enhanced the Agent logging for files over 20 GB.
  • CB-38828 - Added descriptions for Connected Services in the Windows Services Applet.
  • CB-38487 - Modified the Agent to correctly handle the restore of deleted files.
  • CB-38431/CB-38875 - Modified the Japanese Agent GUI to display the correct log message after a successful backup.
  • CB-38302 - Modified the behavior of the toast notifications to make the Agent completely silent.

The CloudRecover team is pleased to announce the July 27, 2015 General Availability of LiveVault 7.80.

This release includes the following features and enhancements:

VMware vSphere 6.0 Support

The Virtual Machine Collector Agent has been updated to use VMware’s VDDK 6.0 and to support vSphere 6. This also enables support for installing the LiveVault Virtual Machine Collector Agent on a Windows 2012 R2 machine.

Web Management Portal Enhancements

The LiveVault Web Management Portal has been updated to include support for the following browsers:

  • Mozilla Firefox 34 or later
  • Google Chrome 39.0 or later
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 or later (no longer need to set compatibility mode for IE 11)

In addition, the web portal also includes enhancements to the Server Templates feature for better usability and enabling customers to add existing machines to a template.

2-node clusters on Windows 2012 and Windows 2012 R2

The LiveVault agent now supports the backup of 2-node clusters running Windows 2012 & 2012 R2

Enhanced Security

  • The LiveVault software and service have been enhanced, disabling SSL3 communications and enabling TLS.
  • OpenSSL modules in all LiveVault components have also been updated to version 1.0.1o

Japanese Translation

All Japanese language LiveVault interfaces, software, help systems and official documentation have been updated in this release.

Quality Fixes

 A number of defects and quality fixes have been implemented, please refer to the release notes here.

How do I upgrade?

Login to the LiveVault web portal (https://cloudrecover.onlinebackup.com), select one of your servers and navigate to the Updates tab. From there you can approve the update and schedule when you would like it pushed automatically to the server.
